I was in a major burger mood, and we were out of veggie patties so we decided to try this recipe for black bean burgers that we had made once before with moderate success. The patties are pretty easy to make, even for me. But, this time we went all out on the toppings, and also made some roasted potatoes. Going clockwise with the drawing, we adorned the burgers with toasted (homemade) bread, mayo, mustard, roma tomatoes, onions, avocados, the burger patties, a fried egg, melted cheddar cheese, lettuce, ketchup, and thousand island dressing.
Definitely digging those black bean burgers, especially given that they aren’t manufactured and packed full of preservatives and completely soy-free. (Since the majority of vegetarian stuff these days is soy-based.)
